Signature Level 1 Award in BSL
This is an ideal course for anyone interested in starting to learn BSL and requires no previous experience or knowledge. Its’ aim is to enable communication with Deaf people through basic everyday conversation and situations such as weather, transport, greetings, numbers, fingerspelling and more.
The course is a fully accredited Signature Level 1 award in British Sign Language covering 3 units: BSL101 – Introduction to BSL, BSL102 Conversational BSL, and BSL103 – BSL at School, College or Work. Each unit is assessed separately and can be achieved in stages at the student’s own pace.
The Units are covered over 55 hours of training from a fully qualified and experienced BSL Trainer for 22 weeks plus 30 hours additional practice time.
When?
Wednesday 2nd October from noon till 2pm or 7pm until 9pm - Cobham venue
Tuesday 1st October 12.30pm -2.30pm or Thursday 3rd Oct 7pm - 9pm - Farnborough venue
Classes run during school term times.
Cost?
Total course fees are £300 with additional Signature assessment fees of £81 plus the on-line resource -Signworld-£29.99 for 1 years subscription (£24.99 discounted price if purchased by 8 or more students)
Additional costs: Course specification free! (Available from the Signature website); practice DVDs, other costs associated with your own choice of Sign practice, such as optional workshops, trips to Deaf clubs and other events. Tutors will advise on these at the beginning of the course.
